MagneticFluids was established from the colloid scientist Dr. Norbert Buske in 2005.

The field of magnetic fluids is a part of the science of nanotechnology: Magnetic core/shell-nanoparticles are prepared and dispersed in fluids forming a colloidal stable dispersion.
MagneticFluids is not only a consulting bureau. There exist the opportunity to test laboratory samples for specific applications.

The investigated fields are:
  • The particle preparation, modification and stabilization in fluids,
  • The colloidal characterization of the dispersions,
  • The application of magnetic fluids.

The competence of the founder results in more than 100 patents and publications.

Nowadays nano magnetorheological fluids are also investigated.

Magnetic fluids present fluids with various physical and/or biological functions:
  • The magnetic properties of the magnetic cores under action of an external magnetic field and field gradient,
  • The super paramagnetic properties of the whole fluid,
  • The (biological) modification of the shells.
  • The variation of the viscosity as function of the external magnetic field strength for nano MRF having a soft magnetorheological effect.
